Lyrics:

What the hell happened to you?
You used to be good, you used to be cool
But now you're back with your new stuff
You don't know when to say enough's enough

You should have quit while you were ahead
Packed it all up and put it to bed
Gone out with class, gone out on top
Instead you've totally gone to pot

Jumping the shark comes from a defining moment on "Happy Days" where a water skiing Fonzie literally jumps over a shark, all while wearing his leather jacket. Everyone knew from that moment on that the show would never be the same. But television shows aren't the only thing that can jump the shark. It can be anything. Movies, music, sports. There will always be that moment when something has reached it's peak and from there it's all downhill.

What the hell happened to you?
You used to be good, you used to be cool

Song Notes:

This is us tempting fate. Jumping the shark refers to a defining moment on the TV show "Happy Days" when Fonzie literally jumps over a shark on waterskis -- all while wearing his leather jacket. Everyone watching immediately knew the show would never be the same. There's always that moment when something in pop culture has reached it's peak and from there, it's all downhill.
