Were All These Beer Cans Here Last Night? (Beatnik Turtle Music/Owens)

Lyrics:

Were all these beer cans here last night?
I couldn’t have drunk them all
There’s no way they were all here last night
But then I can't recall

What am I wearing, why am I dressed like this?
I didn’t come in this way
And where am I and what the hell did I do?
And what the hell did I say?

Were all these beer cans here last night?

Where’s my wallet, where’s the money I had?
Something’s terribly wrong
And where’s my glasses, where the hell are they now?
Don’t tell me they're gone

Now who’s that guy, who's that girl in his arms?
Didn’t she come here with me?
And who’s this passed out on the floor
Spread-eaglely?

Were all these beer cans here last night?
(Were all these beer cans here last night?)

Were all these beer cans here last night?
It’s such a disgrace
And God help who has to clean up this mess
Or is this my place?

Were all these beer cans here last night?
(Were all these beer cans here last night?)

Song Notes:

This is the demo of the version on Beatnik Turtle's The Cheapass Album. The song was written shortly after playing the classic board game by Cheapass Games, Deadwood. Jason and John related to a particular card from the game's "Another Day, Another Dollar" Horror Expansion pack that contained the song's title and inspired the song. They have both since had interventions and are on numerous 12-step programs.

Check out the bigger, better, and brassy-er version available on: The Cheapass Album. Available at iTunes, Rhapsody, and finer online music retailers near you...

Performance:

Lead Vocals: Jason Feehan
Backing Vocals: Jason Feehan
Backing Vocals: John Owens
Guitars: Jason Feehan
