Title:

Spoon Away (Beatnik Turtle Music)

Related:

Lyrics:

When I was young
My mother said to me
Son you better
Spoon your soup away

When we go out
To a fancy restaurant
You better spoon
Spoon away

Spoon away
Spoon away
Son you better learn to spoon
Spoon away

As I got older my mother kept saying to me
Son you're not spooning away
When you go out
On a date my son
You better spoon
Spoon away

Spoon away
Spoon away
Son you better learn to spoon
Spoon away

When you life gets you down
And you're down and out
Remember to keep your head to the sky
And to help you get through
Remember to
To spoon away

Now that I'm older
I still hear my mother say
Echoing memories
To spoon away

Spoon away
Spoon away
Son you better learn to spoon
Spoon away

Song Notes:

Etiquette books say that when one is eating soup:

"...dip the spoon into the soup, from the edge of the bowl to the center, moving away from you so as not to spill on one's shirt, blouse, or tie. Do not spoon towards yourself. To avoid spilling, fill the spoon only 3/4ths the way full and sip you soup - do not slurp - from the edge of the spoon. Do not insert the whole bowl of the spoon into your mouth."*

*Wikipedia notes that Eastern Cultures spoon soup toward themselves. "Spoon Towards" is still in the works. Any one play the koto?
